History About Cadillac's Eldorado Seville:
Advertised as “The New Standard of the World” by Cadillac in their 1959 showroom brochure, the new 4th Generation design was distinct, with a longer and lower overall profile. As with most premium luxury vehicles cruising the streets in the 1950's, rear fins continued to be all the rage! Cadillac utilized this 1959 model year to emphasize this attribute to its peak, along with bullet taillight lenses, jeweled front & rear grills, and plenty of chrome! The top-of-the-line model continued to be the Eldorado series, built in limited quantities as the Brougham Hardtop Sedan, Biarritz Convertible, and Seville Hardtop Coupe.
About our Cadillac Eldorado Seville For Sale:
We are excited to offer for sale this spectacular 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Seville Hardtop Coupe finished in Seminole Red over a Red/White Leather interior! This beautiful Classic Seville was frame-off restored in 2007/2008 with a complete overhaul to all mechanical components. Powered by its original, number's matching 390ci V8 engine and original Hydra-Matic automatic transmission, it comes optioned with air conditioning, power windows including vents, power locks, 6-way power seat, power trunk release with electric pull down, fog lamps, back-up lights, power steering & brakes, windshield washer with 2-speed wipers, passenger vanity mirror, interior courtesy & map lights, rear trunk lamp, rubber floor mats, and E-Z-Eye tinted window glass! On the ground are gorgeous chrome wire spoke wheels!
A former Tampa, Florida area owner located the car with a classic car dealer in New York with 32,340 miles on the odometer in 2007. It was represented as a rust-free California car being incredibly solid and very much all original. The factory color combination of Argyle Blue Metallic, Pale Blue vinyl top, over Blue Leather interior were showing age and requiring reconditioning, so the owner elected a no expense spared frame-off restoration. The Cadillac would be taken down to bare metal and repainted another available 1959 factory Cadillac color of Seminole Red. All large chrome components would be re-plated, all stainless repolished, all new weather stripping installed, along with a completely reupholstered leather interior and carpeted rear trunk compartment in a complimenting red and white combination! Much of the process was captured with pictures and will come included inside a binder with the sale.
During the mechanical portion of the restoration, this Cadillac Eldorado Seville received some upgrades to make it more reliable and enjoyable to drive. The engine and transmission were both professionally overhauled, with the engine now fitted with a date-code correct 4-barrel intake and Carter 2951S AFB carburetor. The factory air leveling suspension swapped for a traditional spring and shock set-up; upgraded power front disc brakes with a dual reservoir brake master cylinder; Diamondback wire whitewall radial tires measuring 235/75R15 for better road feel; Pertronix electronic ignition system, alternator charging system, all modern a/c components with R134a refrigerant, and a billet aluminum radiator overflow reservoir.
It was skillfully completed to appear as a factory stock Cadillac Eldorado Seville Hardtop Coupe inside and out. Although, one quick turn of the key and trip down the highway, we found it to be one of the smoothest and easiest road-going Cadillacs one can buy! Additionally, a closer examination inside the glovebox will reveal a modern AM/FM/CD audio system with higher quality rear seat speakers to play your favorite 1950's classics! Included with the sale with be service & parts manuals, wiring diagrams, one extra engine air filter, new transmission gasket, extra used fuel pump, and three sets of keys. This 1959 Eldorado Seville Hardtop represents unit #824 of 975 only built, making them exceptionally rare to find on the open market today! For an astute Cadillac collector, this opportunity may represent a chance of a lifetime!
