Custom built by Pro Street Customs with expert results, and called the Black Widow! Timeless styling & packed with modern features that include air conditioning, power rack & pinion steering, Wilwood 4-wheel power disc brakes, power windows & driver seat! Powered by an all-aluminum, race inspired Merlin 540ci engine and Richmond 6-speed manual transmission! You just have to take a look at this to absorb it all!
Chevrolet 210 Custom Background: Offered here is a superb custom with certain pro street performance, while retaining pro-touring comfort! Built before pro-touring was even a thing, this inspiration was the creation of Jere Broedling from Winter Park, Florida. Having purchased a largely rust free 1955Chevy 210 body from Orlando owner Terry Demaintenon, it went immediately to Pro Street Customs, Inc. of Orlando, FL for the start of a remarkable build. With no expense spared, and only top end components used, this car came with the feel of American Graffiti meets Two Lane Blacktop and spawns offspring that required all the comforts of the world!
Chevrolet 210 Custom Info: Restored in true rotisserie fashion, the bodywork commenced to ensure absolutely all rust was removed before it was mildly customized to remove all body side trim moldings, rear trunk lock, along with the rear inner fender tubbed for a larger wheel/tire and firewall smoothed. It would receive copious amounts of tedious hand sanding to ensure the application of high gloss Jet Black paint would result in a mirror like finish! A task many body shops find rather tough to accomplish! With special attention to gaps and fitment, the body was test fitted to an all new Art Morrison supplied custom chassis. It would feature tubular front control arms for an independent front suspension, Aldan adjustable coil-over shocks, front anti-sway bar, power assisted Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes, narrowed 9 rear end with Strange 31-spline axles with 3.55Posi-Traction gearing, 4-link rear suspension with upper pan hard bar, rack & pinion steering, and more!
It would also come fully powder-coated in gloss black before all new stainless steel hardware, fuel lines, and brakes lines installed and mated with the body. The chassis was equipped early on to accept a monster all-aluminum Merlin 540ci block and aluminum heads designed by Bill Grumpy Jenkins! It would be built and assembled by C.R.E. Machine Inc. based in Orlando, FL with line honed block, new JE forged pistons, pins & rings; rod bearing, main bearings, Eagle crank &rods, Engle Racing cam, cam bearings, Crane Cams 1.70 roller valve assembly, surfaced heads, 3-angle race valve job, knurling valve guides, K-Line valve guide liners, freeze plugs, etc. All aspects and tolerances of the engine were balanced and measured for perfect clearances!
Additional features include Edelbrock intake, Holley dual-feed carburetion, custom all-steel cowl hood, ceramic-coated headers with stainless steel Magnaflow exhaust and capped cut-outs exiting behind the front wheels, aluminum Richmond 6-speed overdrive transmission, Lakewood bell housing, driveshaft loop, HEI ignition, March serpentine billet belt system, Vintage Air HVAC system, Total Control power steering pump with March remote reservoir, Griffin 2-row aluminum performance radiator with dual cooling fans, K&N open element air filter assembly, Mark Williams Enterprises stainless steel fuel cell, complete Painless Wiring with modern fuse block, and more! It makes for a remarkable power plant that ensures street able driving pleasure or drag style performance! Over 300 pictures are provided of this progression are provided in a supplied photo album along with every possible receipt & service record.
Completed in approximately March of 2003,it would be finished with all new one-piece chrome bumpers tucked tight against the body, a full custom Red & Black leather interior incorporating the Black Widow spider embroidered into the seats, and rear trunk compartment. The padded dash holds instrumentation composed of Auto Meter gauges, and billet a/c ventilation. The billet center console is uniquely engraved with the classic Heartbeat of Chevrolet lines and American Graffiti script! The drivers seat features 8-way adjustment and the IDIDIT polished steering column features both tilt and telescopic comfort. Remote keyless locks, power windows, 3-point front seatbelts, remote trunk release, all tinted glass, and a proper multi-speaker audio system featuring Eclipse 6-disc head unit & radio supply, Kicker-amplified speakers & subs, and 4-point rear roll bar all continue to enhance this remarkable build! It is rather difficult to express the quality of this example, and the timeless style it retains even after 15 years! Please call to learn more about it recent service history and current overall condition. Of course, personal inspections are welcomed and encouraged! Priced well below the replacement value. Act quickly!
