The Chevrolet 3100-Series was renewed with a new designation in 1960 becoming the C/K Series that carried GM's truck line throughout the late-1990's. The C models represented the 2-wheel-drive platform, while the K models identified the 4-wheel-drive examples. The chassis size would now be given a 10, 20, or 30 to designate the ½-ton, ¾-ton, and 1-ton weight classes. Both long and short beds would be available, with both stepside and fleetside varieties. What really set the new C/K trucks apart was the introduction of the drop center ladder-style chassis allowing the cab body to be positioned lower, along with a new independent front suspension. These enhancements finally provided a near car-like ride, a long overdue request by truck owners!
We are excited to have offered this 1960 Chevrolet C10 Fleetside Long-bed Pickup finished in stunning Marlboro Maroon Metallic over a custom split bucket seat interior in new Tan and Burgundy upholstery! The paint is remarkably well applied with a super smooth, deep gloss finish! It was completed in body-off-chassis fashion with all window glass removed to ensure a professional result. Even the jams, interior cabin, dash, underside of the hood, rear bed walls, engine compartment, and undercarriage all share the same paint color, with bottom using a special textured chip guard. The chassis was painted satin black and fully rebuilt with new fuel & brake systems, new suspension components, and fresh BF Goodrich T/A tires wrapped around new chrome 15” mags!
The cab possesses all new weather stripping and window gaskets, along with all new tinted glass and windshield. New door hardware, floor carpeting, dash knobs, and seatbelts bring newness inside. The exterior chrome mirrors, door handles, bumpers, and rear tailgate hardware really make this truck stand out above the rest! Under the hood is a fully rebuilt crate 350ci V8 fitted with an Edelbrock 600cfm-4bbl carburetor with electric chock & HEI ignition, mated with a rebuilt Turbo-Hydramatic 3-speed transmission with floor-mounted Lokar shifter. Other options include power front disc brakes, power steering, heat/air conditioning, Sunpro tachometer & temp gauge, oak bed with polished stainless steel rails, electric wipers, AM/FM/Cassette radio, tilt steering column, and cruise control!
Some subtle enhancements are harder to notice. These include smoothing the upper bed sides by filling the post holes, and moving the tailgate latches to the inside of the bed for a much cleaner look visually! The 2.5” exhaust system utilizes Magnaflow mufflers for that perfect rumble! The gas tank was relocated from the factory cab location to inside the rear frame rails underneath the truck for added safety, and the driveshaft was dynamically balanced by Rockwell to ensure as little vibration as possible while out on the road! A truly amazing truck that hits the road just right! The workmanship in this restoration is quite remarkable, and certainly couldn't be reproduced for the price it is offered at today! Act fast!
